Maple Story: Classes Empty
PostSubject: Maple Story: Classes   Maple Story: Classes Icon_minitimeThu Oct 09, 2008 11:27 am

I could just appoint you to the website itself. (Like so Clicky here ) Though I felt like typing as well. =3

Statistic information:
STR --> Strength
DEX --> Dexterity
INT --> Intelligence
LUK --> Luck

-----------------------------------------

Beginner: This is what you start off as when you create a new character. Afterwards you proceed to Maple Island to go through the newbie tutorial. Once you hit LVL 10 or 8 ( if you become a mage ) you can head off to Victoria island.

-----------------------------------------

Warrior:
Requirements: STR 35+ LVL 10 ( +5 STR each LVL, overall at least 70 DEX )
The warrior like in all games in a close combat/melee type. They have a lot of HP/DEF but little MP, which doesn't really matter since their skills are not that mana costly. When you level your statistic points should be distributed into strength only, for the ideal build. However DEX helps with a warrior's accuracy, and you'll be needing a little of that too.

At LVL 30 the warrior class branches off to:

Fighter:
This job specializes in sword or axe mastery. His unique skill is Fury which can boost everyone's attack power in a party.
Crusader LVL. 70 ---> Hero LVL 120

Spearman

This job specializes in spear or pole-arm mastery. They have the most powerful weapons in terms of attack, though the damage is not always as stable as a swords. Their unique skill is Hyper Body which temporarily boosts up HP and MP, which make Spearmen one of the most popular jobs in party quests.
Dragon Knight Lvl 70---> Dark Knight LVL 120

Page:
This job specializes in sword or mace mastery. Their unique skills is Threaten which lowers the enemy's attack and defense. They unlike their counterparts will have elemental damage later on and are the most versatile of the warrior class.
White Knight LVL 70 ----> LVL 120 Paladin

-----------------------------------------

Thief:
Requirements: DEX 25+ LVL 10
A versatile class, and one of the most played in the game. They eventually branch off to being long range attack (throwing ninja stars) or melee (they use a dagger) They have a decent amount of HP/DEF but not as much as a warrior. However they unlike other classes have stealth. The statistic build of thieves would be mainly DEX and LUK and a bit of STR if you're going for bandit.

At LVL 30 the thief class branches off to:

Bandit: Uses daggers, and they have a skill that hit an enemy 6 times in a row. (Savage Blow) A good job class, which I prefer over their leading counterpart, Assassins.
Chief Bandit Lvl 70---> Shadower LVL 120

Assassins: They use a weapon called claw, which enables them to throw ninja starts. Like Bandits they have the ability to cast haste, which vastly improves movement speed and jump. Their main attack ability can steal an enemy's HP/MP.
Hermit Lvl 70---> Knight Lord 120

-----------------------------------------

Archer:
Requirements: DEX 25+ LVL 10 ( 4+ DEX each LVL and 1+ STR )
Basically the archers of the game. They have a similar amount of HP/MP as Thieves. They are solely long range attack, and they attack rather quickly. However they have a damage penalty for mobs that get too close. The archer will stop attacking and instead will attack with their bow to try to knock them back. Perhaps the least played class since they can be difficult to understand and have patience with. Though at higher levels they are one of the most damage dealing jobs in the game. Their statistics are composed of primarily DEX and a bit of STR.

At LVL 30 the Archer class branches off to:

Hunter: I like them better than crossbow-men, since bows are just sexier. =3 Though it is said that crossbow-men do a bit more damage. Hunters have the ability to stun up to 6 targets with their Arrow Bomb skill.
Ranger 70---> Bow-Master LVL 120

Crossbow-men:
Their attack is a bit slower, and one of their main attacks is Iron arrow which can pierce through 6 targets, damaging them all.
Sniper Lvl 70---> Crossbow-Master LV 120

-----------------------------------------

Magician:
Requirements: INT 20+ LVL 8 ( 4+ INT each LVL and +1 LUK)
Ah, where to start. They might seem difficult to play, when you're putting in your stat build for a mage when you're a beginner since you have to depend on your melee damage at first, and it will be utter crap. Though when you hit level 8 and become a Magician things start to drastically change. Mages are one of the easiest classes to play, ironically since they don't have as much HP or DEF as all the classes. However they do have an awesome skill called Magic Guard which replaces their MP with their HP. It a real life saver, literally. Besides that, they have awesome spells that deal a lot of damage. They also have the ability to teleport, which is an instant spell. At lower levels they easily out damage all the classes. Their build is mainly INT with a bit of LUK.

At LVL 30 the Magician class branches off to:

Cleric: Like in most games they are a support class. They can spam heal to themselves and to those they are in a party with. Their healing skill also damages undead. They don't get many attack skills but the fact that they get a bit of exp for each heal they give to someone else in a party makes up for that. That's why clerics love warriors. They have lots of HP = More Exp for them.
Priest Lvl 70---> Bishop LV 120

Lighting/Ice mage Wizard:
One of the most played type of mage besides clerics. They have an ice skill that can deal heavy damage, especially to fire based creatures, not to mention freeze the target. Their lightning ability is not as strong, however it hits up to 6 targets. Awesome for mobbing.
Mage Lvl 70---> Arch Mage LV 120

Fire/Poison Wizard: They have a fire arrow, which can deal a lot of damage, especially to ice based creatures and a AoE poison attack that takes away damage over time to a target.
Mage Lvl 70---> Arch Mage LV 120
